Meatco enjoys global recognition for Natures Reserve, selling beef products to high-end premium retail outlets, restaurant groups, processors and manufacturers around the world.
We operate to the highest levels of product safety, reliability, hygiene and traceability. Our world-class processing facilities in the Namibian capital of Windhoek and nearby town of Okahandja are both ISO and HACCP certified, and every point in our production chain is regularly subjected to various independent audits, including that of the EU. All Natures Reserve cattle are fully traceable to their farm of origin, and must be registered with the Farm Assured Namibian Meat Scheme, or FAN Meat, a world-class tracking system. Each animal has a unique identification ear tag so the precise movements of products can be traced, right through from farm to fork.
At our processing facilities, cattle selected for Natures Reserve are carefully led into our intake lairage where all are supplied food as required, and water is available consistently. Animals are rested and an inspection of all stock is undertaken. Once our trained Animal Welfare Officers are fully satisfied with the quality of the livestock, they are entered onto the Natures Reserve database and accepted for entry into our processing facilities. 'There is a strictly controlled chilling regime and each side is PH tested to help ensure maximum tenderness and quality. Natures Reserve beef carcases are selected for final butchery and trimming preparation by highly trained and skilled staff. Sophisticated cold-storage facilities ensure meat is kept in a fully-controlled environment, and then presented and packaged to the highest standards.
The result is free-range beef cuts, chilled, vacuum-packed and farm-fresh. Products like Natures Reserve that boasts a flavour, tenderness and succulence that lives long in the memory.
